Re: Per­son­al Train­ing. I real­ly liked how Kris pushed you dur­ing the work­out  and cheered you on. It made the 1 on 1 fun and you want­ed to push your­self to do bet­ter.  Kris real­ly tryed to make it like the SOPAT dur­ing the work­out, so you could get an idea. The 1 on 1 train­ing helped be pre­pare for the SOPAT. It gave me an idea of what I need­ed to do for each step dur­ing the test to pass. I left con­fi­dent that I would pass and I did pass.- Kevin

Re: Per­son­al Train­ing. I have recent­ly begun train­ing with Sheep Dog Self Pro­tec­tion to pre­pare to take the POPAT. Through the 1 on 1 ses­sions I have done so far, I have learnt a lot about tech­nique,  prop­er train­ing for the POPAT, and tips and tricks about the test. Actu­al­ly get­ting to use the push pull machine and prac­tice with it has been a huge help. After only two 1 on 1 ses­sions, my con­fi­dence has gone up, I am see­ing improve­ments, and the push pull machine does not seem daunt­ing like it used to. I am excit­ed to con­tin­ue my train­ing and am con­fi­dent that because of it I will pass my POPAT in Jan­u­ary.- Erin

I liked that Frank knew how to build my con­fi­dence back up to believ­ing I could pass. I came to Sheep­dog after hav­ing recov­ered from a trau­mat­ic injury and need­ed a con­fi­dence builder. I also liked that Frank pushed me hard enough to force adap­ta­tion very quick­ly but knew exact­ly how far to push so I could believe I could keep going. I have not passed yet but it took me essen­tial­ly from the couch to with­in reach of accept­able time in just 5 weeks. I know I will pass. It’s only a mat­ter of time.- Jes­si­ca

Re: Per­son­al Train­ing. I liked that the train­er real­ly cared about my suc­cess. He gave me a lot of use­ful tips and was very encour­ag­ing. I took the POPAT with Sheep Dog after not suc­ceed­ing the first time at a dif­fer­ent facil­i­ty and passed it. The envi­ron­ment made all the dif­fer­ence to me! — Mari­am

Re: Per­son­al Train­ing. The per­son­al train­ing ses­sion was a great expe­ri­ence! Using the push pull machine was a good reminder to keep up with weight train­ing. Being timed on por­tions of the test­ing is some­thing no train­er has offered before. Awe­some. — Lori

Re: Test­ing. I par­tic­i­pat­ed in the POPAT in 2018. The first time i was unsuc­cess­ful. At the end Kris was very pos­i­tive and actu­al­ly sug­gest­ed work­out pro­grams and advice on how to be suc­cess­ful.  I took the advice to heart and fol­lowed the pro­gram and was suc­cess­ful the sec­ond time. This test can be intim­i­dat­ing and every­one is usu­al­ly ner­vous pri­or to the test. Kris and her team do a great job demon­strat­ing each phase of the test as well as going over the rules.  Also dur­ing the test they are there instruct­ing you at each cone, each push/pull and each up and over.…Kris and her team are great and the advice giv­en comes from the heart you can real­ly tell that sheep dog wants you to be suc­cess­ful. — Jas

I would like to say that the per­son­al train­ing was in my opin­ion deliv­ered very well. Dur­ing the ses­sions it was obvi­ous that there was a gen­uine effort by Sheep­dog Self-Pro­tec­tion to push me phys­i­cal­ly and men­tal­ly to be suc­cess­ful in the POPAT. I would like to say that Frank did a fan­tas­tic job work­ing with me as he pro­vid­ed great advice on over­com­ing men­tal and phys­i­cal obsta­cles. Frank also helped me devel­op exer­cise rou­tines to do between ses­sions, which def­i­nite­ly  helped me suc­ceed in the POPAT. — Lukasz

I have been very hap­py with the train­ing received. From a per­son­al train­er per­spec­tive it is bang on. The tips and demos are there when need­ed and are very detailed, which is set­ting you up for suc­cess. The expla­na­tion of the test and what is need­ed are super help­ful.  The work­outs have always been some­thing dif­fer­ent and chal­leng­ing, which is what I love most (the way I always taught as well).  Always pushed fur­ther then last time. Tips after each ses­sion have been giv­en to work out to aid for future train­ing. Def­i­nite­ly rec­om­mend­ed to oth­ers. — Jen

I have reg­is­tered for the POPAT three times with sheep­dog and have passed every time with an increas­ing com­pet­i­tive test time. Both Kris and Fran­cois have been very help­ful with  help­ing me build the con­fi­dence to increase my fit­ness and endurance. I reg­is­tered for three one on one popat ses­sions and that made all the dif­fer­ence. They helped me focus on cer­tain aspects of the course that I strug­gled with. After my one on one ses­sions I noticed a huge improve­ment in my train­ing and fit­ness, which result­ed in receiv­ing a very com­pet­i­tive test time. In addi­tion to the train­ing I received, the facil­i­ty and envi­ron­ment where the popat test is con­duct­ed is a very pro­fes­sion­al yet com­fort­able set­ting which took some pres­sure off! I am very hap­py I chose sheep­dog to assist with my train­ing, thank you Sheep­dog for your help and encour­age­ment. — Amrit
